Every couple of days I think to myself "Man, I really need to blog." This thought is immediately followed by "Noone really reads it and I don't have the time tonight…it's okay to put it off for a few more days." Then a co-worker mentions that she tried looking at your most recent creations because she doesn't have Facebook and "by the way, did you know you haven't blogged since January"!?
JANUARY???!!!!!
Truthfully, January was a relatively quiet month…and February was much of the same.
Turns out those winter months don't really scream 'shower/party/cookie' season.
And now here it is…almost the end of April. My typical cookie schedule goes something like bake Friday night, cram as much cookie decorating & blogging/facebook updating into Saturday and Sunday as possible, no cookie time on Monday due to weekly commitment, detail Tuesday & Wednesday, photograph & package Thursday…repeat. It's a routine that I've learned to manage very well. Complete with built in time for spontaneity…I know that's an oxymoron, but you get my drift.
And then March 2014 hit and I have had weekend commitments from then all the way out until July 5th. I'm talking out of town, throwing showers/parties, playing a major role in a 5k, weddings, birthdays, etc. type commitments. I'm talking almost no weekend cookie time and now it's a Wednesday night and I'm doing my normal weekend technology cookie update.
I can't tell if I'm ahead or behind schedule.
Here's a look at what I was up to in February, March and early April. Brace yourselves for a long post…don't worry, it will be mostly in pictures.
These owl onesies went to a baby shower. Thanks, Haila!
A friend of mine had these made for her husband. I love the lips!
Recently, my sister's best friend became a S & D seller and my sister hosted a party for her. Because I love them both so much (and had been dying to have a reason to make jewelry cookies) they got some for the party. Obviously, it was a slow cookie time for me because that detail took some time!
My friend and sorority sister ordered these for her son's birthday. Thanks again, Haila!!
I adored the theme behind these cookies. Shabby Chic meets country and mint green mason jars. These cookies went to a bachelorette party. Thank you, Moriah!
Lucas turned 6 and what 6 year doesn't love superhero's?! I was a little nervous about Captain America, but he turned out to be my favorite! Thank you, Stephanie.
I absolutely LOVE this color scheme. Of course you can't go wrong with polka dots, quatrefoil and chevron! Thank you, Erica!
I had to google Winx Club when I got a request for them. Now I know! Thanks, Kris!
These cookies went to Shannon's 42nd Birthday. Thank you, Shannon!
These cookies went to a princess themed baby shower. Thanks, Margaret!
I love cookies for my family because I have complete and total freedom. These cookies went to my sister's bridal shower.
I've been making cookies for 3 years now and these were the first John Deere & tractor cookies I've ever made. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to make them, Stephanie!
Sometimes simple is so fun and ends up being the most elegant. I love how the same shape and color simple color scheme can look so different with different backgrounds. Thank you, Kim!
These cookies went to a Strawberry Shortcake themed party. Thank you, Jordana!
This is the Infertility Awareness ribbon. A cause that is so dear to my heart. These cookies went to a 5k that my husband and I were a featured couple in. The Race to Parenthood 5k helped 7 local couples raise money for their paths to parenthood after they have all struggled with infertility.
These were the only Easter cookies I made this year. Thanks, Patty!
These went to a baby shower for a friend of mine. She just had her little boy a week ago. Congratulations, Christine and thanks, Amy!
Words cannot describe how much I love this set. I'm not a fairy, butterfly, flower set and originally the idea of this order was terrifying to me. These were the first cookies I hand painted and used a shadowing technique on. I also loved the royal icing roses. Thank you, Megan!
Monograms, whales, chevron and blue/pink color combo? Yes, please! Thank you so much, Kristin!

I loved the beer bottle caps. They're time consuming but I always love how they turn out. Thank you, Emily! I hope Thomas had a wonderful birthday!
More card cookies made their way to a bridge group at a local retirement community. Thank you, Sarah!

My aunt ordered these cookies for the band members in the pit for their school musical, Aida. I enjoyed being able to use the shadowing technique again behind the faces. Thank you, Aunt Sue!
Phew…okay, that's it for now!
Now to gear up for the next 18 dozen cookies due within the next two weeks. Yikes!!
If I'm lucky, I'll blog again before August!
Thanks for checking in!
